Royal Rubber Abrasion Tester
ROYAL Abrasion Tester is designed to determine abrasion resistance index of natural and synthetic rubber in accordance with the above principle. It consists of test specimen holder with a cylindrical opening adjustable between 15.5 to 16.3 mm to clamp the test specimen with an arrangement to adjust the length of test specimen protruding out. The holder is mounted by a screw mechanism along a length of a rotating drum on which the abrasive cloth is fixed. The movement to the screw mechanism and drum is given by an electric motor, gearbox and chain mechanism to give the specified speed of rotation to the drum and the specified lateral movement to the test specimen holder. The swivel arm and test specimen holder are so disposed that the test specimen is pressed against the drum under the specified load with its center axis at an inclination of 3 degree to the perpendicular in the direction of rotation and placed above the longitudinal axis of drum. A rack and pinion arrangement to rotate the test specimen about its axis during the test (whenever desired) is also provided. The abrasive cloth is firmly fixed to the drum using a suitable peel able adhesive with the ends of the abrasive cloth butt jointed together. The equipment is provided with limit switches which, in addition of giving over travel safety to the movement of test holder by preventing the lower edge of the test specimen holder to touch the abrasive cloth. The equipment is built on rigid steel base and finished in grey metallic and bright chrome / zinc plating to give it a corrosion resistant finish. Moulding die, rotary type cutting die (hollow drill) for preparing test specimens and extra abrasive cloth are available as optional accessories.

Test the pilling of the textile fabrics supplied with template, 8 rubber tubes and jig/fixture. Two box and four box models are available. The “royal" pilling tester consists of two cubical boxers inner walls of box are lined by 3mm thick cork sheet. The boxes are rotate by means of motor about the horizontal axis. A pre-set digital counter is provided for stopping the tester after pre-determined number of revolutions. A template, metal cylinder, comprising jig and 8-rubber tuber are provided with the instrument. Instrument is finished by bright chromes plating & metallic painting for corrosion resistant finish.

Crease Recovery Tester
The royal crease recovery tester is designed to measure crease recovery angle of fabrics. It consists of a rotary circular scale on which a spring type specimen clamp is fixed on the base plate on which the above arrangement is mounted. The test specimen is fixed on a loading strip supplied with the equipment. After folding the specimen on the creasing line marked on the strip, the loading strip with folded specimen is kept on an anvil under the dead load of the loading arrangement for a specified time. After that the specimen with the loading strip is transferred to the clamp of the rotary circular scale, where it is held in manner that the fold lies in a horizontal line on the axis of the circular scale. The circular scale with the clamp is rotated till the free limb of the specimen becomes vertical which is judged by aligning it to a vertical pointer. The crease recovery angle is directly read on the circular scale.

The royal drape meter consists of a circular specimen support, an electric lamp to give off light, and an exposing and developing arrangement using light sensitive ammonia paper to determined the area covered by the shadow of the test specimen, and an electric lamp to expose the ammonia paper to determine the area covered by the shadow of the test specimen. The circular specimen support is made out cast aluminum and is fixed over a clear acrylic sheet. The sheet is hinged at one end and can be lifted for placing the ammonia paper for exposure. The paper is kept below the acrylic sheet on a resilient surface so that it is in close contact with the sheet when it is horizontal. The specimen holding and paper exposing arrangement is kept inside a sheet metal exposing chamber. The electric lamp is fitted at the upper end of the chamber so that light rays coming from it are intercepted by the test specimen. The rays which are not intercepted fall on the paper and expose it, thus giving a demarcation between exposed and unexposed areas. The chamber has a close fittings door. It has ventilation holes near its bottom and top for keeping it cool. An ammonia vapour developing chamber in which the exposed paper is kept for developing is provided below the exposing chamber. This chamber has a close fitting door and an arrangement to keep ammonium hydroxide to create a suitable atmosphere for developing the print. The test specimen is kept over a welded wire mesh plateform to ensure a uniform developing. The outside of the apparatus is finished in dark admiralty grey synthetic enamel to give it a corrosion resistant finish. A metal template of 250 mm diameter have a central hole for marking and cutting the test specimens, a specimen pressing disc, one hundred sheets of ammonia process paper, and one bottle of ammonium hydroxide are supplied as standard accessories.

The “royal” beasley balance is used for measure the direct yarn count. The balance made of an aluminium beam which is pivoted at a bracket with the help of two jewel bearings. One end of the beam have a stainless steel hook for putting the yarn. The pointer side of the beam has a slit for placing the weight. The beam assembly is fitted in a sheet metal box which have a sliding transparent window for avoiding the air flow in the instrument. The instrument has the leveling arrangement. A template is provided with the instrument for cutting the different size of the fabric. Two weights are provided with the instrument. The instrument is chrome plated & dark gray metallic paint for given the corrosion resistance finish.

GSM Balance
Royal Quadrant Scale for GSM is a simple and quick device which directly indicates the weight per unite area in grams per square meter (GSM) on a sector scale when a sample of selected size is suspended from a clamp fixed to the pointer arm. GSM Balance measures the GSM of fabric, paper, flooring, PVC film and other flexible sheet material. The system is supplied with two templates. The ASIAN GSM Balance is designed to give the weight per unit area of textile fabrics directly. It consists of a quadrant scale calibrated in values of GSM fixed in a vertical plane on a rigid base having provision for leveling. A pointer beam is pivoted on two jewel bearings at the center point of the scale. A specimen of specified area is cut out from the fabric with the help of either of the two templates provided (or by round cutter) and is suspended on one end of the pointer beam. The weight per unite area is read directly from the quadrant scale.

Fabric Thickness Gauge
The royal bench thickness gauge for fabric is used for the thickness measurement of the fabric, paper, rubber, plastic, flooring, etc. Analogue and digital models are available. The systems consists of a dial micrometer fitted on a digital micrometer fitted on a rigid metallic frame. The micrometer has a flat circular indenter, which exerts the specified pressure on the fabric sample whose thickness is being measured through a dead weight. The fabric sample is kept on an anvil, which is in from of a flat circular platform. The axis of the indenter and the anvil coincide and is the same as the axis of movement of the indenter. The indenter can be raised and lowered gently onto the fabric sample with the help of a lifting lever.

Air Permeability Tester

The "royal" air permeability tester for textiles is used for air permeability testing of the fabrics. Digital and analogue models are available. This system consists of an arrangement for holding the test specimens between two flat faces so as to expose a known area to the flow of air through it, a vacuum system to draw air through the exposed area of the test specimens. There is an arrangement to measure the volume of air flowing through the test specimen, and arrangement to measure the pressure drop between the faces of the test specimen. The test specimen is hold between two round-shaped grips. The grips are lined with rubber gasket to avoid the leakage of air through the edges. The two grips can be held the test specimens with the help of a hand operated screw mechanism. The vacuum needed to draw the air through the test specimens is created with the vacuum pump supplied with the instrument. The vacuum pressure is measured by the digital manometer (or manometer tube) in terms of mm of water level & airflow is measured by the rotameters attached with the instrument. The equipment is metallic paint & bright chrome plating finish for corrosion resistant finishing.

Snap pull out tester is used to determine the holding or breaking strength of prong-ring attached snap fasteners on the garments. The testing equipment comprises of an upper Snap-Clamp, a Lower Fabric Clamp & a Force Gauge mounted on a stand. The component to be tested is gripped by the Upper Snap Clamp and the garment is fixed to the Lower Fabric Clamp. Top fly wheel is turned with a specific force. The recording instrument displays the holding strength or the breaking strength of the snap component attached.
Our snap pull out tester are also used in paper industry for Elmendorf Tearing Strength. This test determines the average force required to propagate a single-rip tongue-type tear starting from a cut in paper, cardboard, plastics, non-woven and woven fabrics, with proper configuration.

Royal toxicity chamber consists of an airtight enclosure of about 0. 7m³ volume lined with opaque plastic sheeting having a hinged, fitted with a transparent plastic panel. Some gaseous products of combustion may react with or be absorbed on the walls of the chamber. So the inner wall has the lining of polypropylene and with polycarbonate transparency window is provided. The chamber is fitted with a vacuum pump forced air extraction system, which can be closed at the exit from the chamber when required. The chamber is fitted with sampling positions such that the air tightness of the chamber is not impaired. The chamber is containing a mixing axial fan inside the chamber at horizontally and centrally inside the chamber at roof level to ensure rapid mixing of combustion products capable of being switched on and off externally. Burner is to be capable of achieving a flame approximately 100 mm in height. The burner is fitted at the center of the chamber. There is a provision is to be made for igniting and extinguishing the burner from out side the chamber. A digital temperature indicator is also mounted for the measurement of temperature of the flame of the burner. The specimen support is an annulus cut from a sheet steel nominal thickness 2 mm of approximately 100 mm overall diameter with a 75 mm diameter hole carrying temperature resistance wires approximately 10 mm apart to form a lattice.
